| Sewer Snake, 100-Foot |
100-FT. ELECTRIC SEWER SNAKE
CAUTION:
- BE SURE machine is plugged into properly grounded receptacle.
- DON'T operate in standing water!
- IF YOU HAVE to use an extension cord be sure it is a heaby gauge grounded cord NOT more than 50 feet long. TOO LIGHT A CORD WILL OVERHEAT MOTOR AND IT WILL STOP.
- TEST AND RESET GROUND FAULT INTERRUPTER before use of machine. If it doesn't work then DO NOT use machine.
- WEAR LEATHER GLOVES, not cloth. The cable can pinch you!
- DON'T use snake in lines containing chemical drain cleaners. This will damage the cable and could damage operator!
- THIS EQUIPMENT is designed for one-person operation only. Operator must control foot pedal and cable.
OPERATION:
- Place machine within 2 feet of drain opening. If you can't get that close, run cable through pipe to prevent cable whipping.
- Pull cable out of cage, insert into drain opening and puch cable in until you can't go any farther. Then pull out another foot of cable so that an arc is formed between the machine and drain. Tighten the thumb screw against cable.
- Put motor switch in FORWARD position. With both hands on cable, step on foot switch and guide cable into drain with firm, even pressure. DO NOT use too much force - let machine do the work!
- Don't leave too much slack in cable as this will cause whipping. If too much twist or bend in cable, then release pressure on foot pedal and rotate cage in opposite direction to relieve twist. Push excell cable tack into cage.
- When slack has been fed into drain, stop machine, loosen thumb screw and pull out another foot of cable, tighten thymb screw and repeat until you clear the line.
- If you're having trouble getting around bends, try putting machine into reverse while applying steady pressure. DON'T do this for more than a few seconds, as this can cause kinking of cable or tangling in cage!
- After line is open, return cable to cage with motor turning forward. Unplug machine and rinse off cable.
IF CABLE GETS CAUGHT IN LINE:
- Tighten thumb screw against cable.
- Move motor switch to reverse.
- Pull cable while cage turns in reverse.
- When cable is free, loosen thumb screw, put motor switch on forward.
